How to Spend New Year’s Eve in London

There is always something happening somewhere in London, and with New Year’s Eve fast approaching it could be time to get your plans for the evening sorted. If you are in need of some inspiration the following New Year’s Eve events should provide you with a few ideas of how you can see in the New Year, whether you want an intimate night with the one you love, or a full on singing, dancing and firework extravaganza. Bear in mind that there is no leaving thing to the last minute, many events sell out early so you will need to make sure you have your tickets booked in advance.

Mayor of London’s Fireworks Display (Free)

There is no denying that the annual fireworks display is a spectacular event, and there will be more than 250,000 heading into the city to line the banks of the river to take part in this wonderful free event. There will be designated viewing areas set up along the river side which will be filled on a first come first served basis, so you will need to be there early in order to claim your place.

New Year’s Eve Special at the London Comedy Cellar (£30.00)

See in the New Year with a smile at the London Comedy Cellar. The line up for the night looks set to be a hit with Ava Vidal from the Michael McIntyre Road show, Nick Coppin and award winning French TV Comedian Marcel Lucont. Included in your ticket price is a special New Year’s Eve Club Candy club night where you can dance your way into the small hours of January 1st.

Have a Vintage New Year at the Southbank Centre (£115.00)

Last year’s event was a roaring success so once again the Royal Festival Hall will be transformed with vintage style. There will be a total of five unique pop up entertainment venues set out over the four floors of the hall. Spend the evening in a vintage night club, or enjoy a stylish vintage dining experience, enjoy a treat in a vintage hair and beauty parlour, enjoy photo studios or spend some time on the private terrace overlooking all the excitement of the Mayor of London’s fireworks extravaganza.

Cruise the River on New Year’s Eve with Golden Tours (£119.00+)

Enjoy a unique view of the city on one of the most unique nights of the year. You will see all of the city’s riverside landmarks, the majority of which will be specially illuminated for the festive period. Toast the New Year with a glass of bubbly and watch the fireworks from your water based viewpoint.

Skating at Somerset House (£62.00)

Billed as London’s most spectacular skating experience this New Year’s Eve you can skate to the sounds being played by a live DJ. With a champagne toast at midnight you can enjoy excellent views across to the fireworks over the river.
